January. the Trips Festival is organized by Ken Kessey and the Merry Pranksters
in San Francisco

February, Family Dog/Avalon Series begins (runs to 147 on November 28, 1968) and Bill
Graham/Fillmore Series begins (runs to 287 on June 30, 1971)
